Squarespace Pricing 2026: Which Plan Actually Makes Sense (Updated)

*Updated Aug 2026 to reflect Squarespace’s new pricing

Squarespace is a cost-effective website builder that allows you to create your own website without breaking the bank. To cater to different business and website requirements, Squarespace offers several pricing plans.

So that leads to the obvious question, “Which Squarespace plan should I choose?”

The pricing of Squarespace plans varies from $19 USD to $99 USD per month, based on your specific needs and desired features, billed as either an annual or monthly subscription. The right plan for you depends on several factors, which we’ll cover in-depth in this post.

PRO TIP

Partner with Log Cabin and the first-year pricing drops.

As a Squarespace Circle Gold partner we pass along 20% off the first year of any annual plan, bringing the range to $15.20–$79.20/mo instead of $19–$99.

PRO TIP

Picking the right plan is step one.

Making the site actually convert visitors into customers is where most people get stuck.

A good plan doesn’t fix weak structure, missing calls-to-action, slow load times, or content that Google and AI tools ignore. That’s the difference between a site that sits there and one that quietly brings in work.

If you want a straight look at which plan fits your situation — and what actually needs to be in place so the site earns its keep — book a free 30-minute strategy call. No hard sell. Just clarity.

Let’s Break Down Squarespace’s Plans

Squarespace Basic Plan

$19/mo billed annually OR $25/mo billed monthly

If you just need a new website up and running, and don’t need any bells and whistles yet, this is the plan for you.

Basic Plan - Pros

  • Low cost | The Basic Plan is the budget-friendly choice for those seeking to save costs when launching. Great for when you just need a few pages and nothing fancy.

Basic Plan - Cons

  • Transaction fees on sales | You can now sell products and services on every plan, but the Basic plan adds a 2% Squarespace transaction fee on online store sales (plus standard Stripe/PayPal fees).

  • Limited customization | Very limited access to Squarespace custom coding options beyond basic CSS, so you’re essentially confined to the builder’s stock design settings.

  • Premium blocks are limited | Advanced blocks like full code injection, announcement bars, and certain premium integrations require a higher plan.

  • Maximum of 2 contributors | Contributors are extra users who can make changes to your website. If you’re a small operation, no worries. But if you have a bigger team, you may want to factor this into your decision.

  • Rudimentary analytics only | Squarespace has integrated analytics that enable tracking of basic metrics such as pageviews, users, and sessions. However, deeper form and button conversion tracking and advanced insights are only available with an upgrade to the Core Plan or higher.

  • Video storage | Only 30 minutes included.

Squarespace Core Plan

(Our top recommendation for most clients)

$29/mo billed annually or ~$39/mo billed monthly

If you’re a business or online shop that needs premium blocks, marketing tools, and zero transaction fees on physical products, this is the plan for you.

Core Plan - Pros

  • Ecommerce Simplified | The Core plan grants you full ecommerce capabilities with 0% Squarespace transaction fee on physical product sales (you still pay standard Stripe/PayPal fees). No need for a more advanced package unless you sell a lot of digital products.

  • Boost Your Marketing | The Core plan provides valuable marketing tools, including the announcement bar and pop-up features. Use them to effectively promote your email list and latest offerings. Alternatively, utilize a code block to seamlessly embed a sign-up form.

  • Unlock Premium Blocks | When you choose the Core plan, you gain access to a full suite of premium blocks and code injection. This opens the door to embedding email sign-up forms from any provider and incorporating advanced blocks such as scheduling forms.

  • Code Injection for Customization | Code injection allows you to introduce HTML and Javascript to your website, enabling the integration of third-party plugins and custom functionality.

  • Unlimited contributors | Perfect for teams or virtual assistants.

  • Video storage | 5 hours included.

  • Complimentary Google Workspace | Opt for the annual payment of the Core Plan, and you'll often receive professional email tools as part of the package.

Core Plan - Cons

  • Digital product fees | 5% transaction fee still applies to digital products, memberships, and courses.

  • Lack of some Advanced Ecommerce Features | This plan doesn't include carrier-calculated real-time shipping, advanced merchandising tools, or the lowest processing rates available on higher plans.

Squarespace Plus Plan

$49/mo billed annually or ~$65/mo billed monthly

This plan is best for online shops that make significant sales, sell digital products, or require advanced ecommerce features like better shipping tools.

Plus Plan - Pros

  • No (or very low) Transaction Fees | With this plan, there are 0% Squarespace transaction fees on physical products and only 1% on digital content and memberships. You'll only encounter the standard PayPal/Stripe fees for your sales.

Enhanced Ecommerce Features | This plan offers advanced ecommerce features including carrier-calculated shipping rates, shipping labels, advanced merchandising, abandoned cart recovery tools, and better integration with Facebook/Instagram advertising.

Lower payment processing rates | Credit card fees drop to 2.7% + $0.30.

Video storage | 50 hours included.

Plus Plan - Cons

  • Missing Some Top-Tier Features | This plan doesn't include the absolute lowest processing rates or unlimited video storage found on the Advanced plan.

Squarespace Advanced Plan

$99/mo billed annually or ~$139/mo billed monthly

Designed for thriving online stores and businesses with high volume or complex needs, the Advanced Plan offers the lowest fees and the most powerful ecommerce and customization tools.

Advanced Plan - Pros

  • Lowest Fees | 2.5% + $0.30 credit card processing and 0% transaction fee on digital products and memberships.

  • Subscriptions & Gift Cards | Create recurring revenue streams with subscriptions and offer gift cards to customers.

  • Advanced Tools | Abandoned cart auto-recovery, smart real-time shipping rate calculations, sales funnel analytics, commerce APIs, and every advanced merchandising and integration feature Squarespace offers.

  • Unlimited video storage | Perfect for sites heavy on video content.

  • Everything else | All the features from lower plans, plus the full suite of professional tools.

Advanced Plan - Cons

  • Higher monthly cost | Only worth it if your sales volume is high enough that the fee savings and extra features justify the price jump.

Can I switch Squarespace plans after subscribing?

Switching between Squarespace plans is a straightforward process. Whether you're on a monthly or yearly payment schedule, you'll receive a refund for the remaining time on your current plan.

For example, if you've paid $348 for an annual Squarespace plan and used it for 6 months, you'll be refunded for the remaining 6 months.

To request a refund, simply reach out to Squarespace through their live chat, available Monday to Friday from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM EDT. They're known for their responsiveness and helpfulness, making it the recommended way to go.

PRO TIP

If you're downgrading your plan, keep in mind that some website features and functionalities may be limited. Always review the feature changes before making the switch.

Because Squarespace offers such flexibility, it's wise to start with the plan that suits your current needs, and you can always upgrade as your business grows.

Is It Possible to Get a Discount on My Squarespace Plan?

Absolutely! There are several avenues to explore for discounts on Squarespace, with savings ranging from 10% to a generous 50%. For a comprehensive guide on the best methods to obtain a Squarespace discount, be sure to check out our post here.

So after all that, which Squarespace Plan do I choose?

Basic – Simple personal sites or portfolios with little to no sales.

Core – Most small businesses and stores that want marketing tools, unlimited contributors, and zero fees on physical products. (This is the sweet spot for the majority of our clients.)

Plus – Growing ecommerce stores that need advanced shipping, lower digital fees, and more video storage.

Advanced – High-volume stores or businesses running subscriptions and needing the lowest possible fees plus every power feature.

Note on legacy plans | If you’re currently on an older Personal, Business, Commerce Basic, or Commerce Advanced plan, you can stay on it or switch to the new structure anytime. Many clients find switching gives them better tools or lower fees.

PRO TIP

Always bill annually to save up to 36%. And run the numbers on transaction fees the same way you’d calculate material costs before building a cabin — they add up faster than you think.

PRO TIP

When you build with a Squarespace Circle partner, you typically get a discount on the first year of an annual plan and a much longer trial window (we use the extended trial on every client project). That often makes Core or Plus more affordable in year one than going the DIY route.
